The assistant with a namesake
Meet Hannah.
Hannah is the part of VetFlow that watches your schedule, checks patients in, builds their checklists and discharges them when the visit closes — and answers when you just tell her what you need.
She is named after the cat on the right, who has been sitting on the counter supervising this project since the very first version.
The story
Most of VetFlow was written at a kitchen counter after clinic hours, which meant most of it was written with a tabby cat sitting directly in front of the screen.
The idea behind the assistant was simple: on a busy floor, nobody has a free hand to hunt for the right field on the right screen. You should be able to say what you want the way you would say it to a coworker — "move the drop-off to Exam 3", "discharge the cystos" — and have it just be done.
Naming her after the cat who supervised the whole thing felt only fair. She did, after all, sit on the keyboard for a meaningful percentage of it.
